| TGS
was successful in a bidding competition recently for the
supply of a number of vehicles destined for a capacity building
programme in a southern African state. Part of the consignment
of vehicles included four TOYOTA HZJ79 Pick-Ups that had
to be converted into prisoner transportation vehicles.
These vehicles will be used to
transport prisoners from rural locations to the urban centres
as well as movements within the cities. |

The standard Land
Cruiser 79 Pick-Ups were converted to a design and specification
provided by the customer. Amongst the many features required,
special care had to be taken to ensure total security to the
driver compartment as well as the provision of a through ventilation
system that would enable to transport the occupants in relative
comfort.
TGS has carried out
similar conversions based on this Toyota model for other clients.
In addition to the prisoner vans, TGS has in the past converted
a range of other vehicles including ambulances, veterinary
clinics, mobile communications, medical units, drilling rigs
and fire trucks. |
