TGS's International Aid & Trade participation an "unqualified success"

TGS and Toyota Motor Corporation joined forces to make their appearance at the International Aid & Trade Exhibition a very successful one.

This annual gathering of top officials from UN Agencies, government, development banks and non-government organisations as well as business leaders took place at the Javitts Centre, in the heart of New York on 20th and 21st June.

The Toyota stand, decked out in the corporate colours, was the biggest and busiest at the exhibition.

This time round 4 vehicles were displayed, offering customers and visitors the opportunity to have a close look and receive a detailed explanation of some of the most popular models in the Toyota range.

In-depth discussions with customers, took place on the stand.   The Condor 4x4 Multi Purpose vehicle was displayed "in water".
The Registration booths were sponsored by Toyota. The Land Cruiser Pick-Up was displayed on rocky terrain with roll-cage, rear bench seat and tarpaulin with frame.

A bird's eye view of the stand.   The Toyota team ready for action.

Innovatively, TGS chose to display the 4 vehicles in settings which simulated true-life off-road conditions. So we had rocks, sand, water and mud conditions which the vehicles all seemed to cope with quite well!!! Many visitors to the stand commented positively on the way these settings seemed to bring the vehicles to life, adding an extra dimension to the quality of the display. In addition to this, all vehicles had been especially prepared for the show with an impressive number of fitted accessories allowing customers and visitors to see at first hand how the equipment can be used to maximise the vehicle's potential. This included a fully fitted high-spec ambulance.

In attendance at the stand were key TGS personnel, and three colleagues from Toyota Motor Corporation.

The exhibition marked the debut of the Condor 4x4 Multi Purpose Vehicle in this market. This is a mid-range 4x4 model built in South Africa to Toyota build standards especially for the tough African road conditions with light-duty off-road capability. A representative from Toyota South Africa was on the stand to deal with the great interest shown in this model by all visitors to the Toyota stand.
