TGS have recently completed a training seminar in Strängnäs which is located near Stockholm, Sweden.

The event was split into three parts.
Day 1 and 2 NGOs attended a 2 day seminar
Day 3 and 4 NGOs attended a 2 day seminar
Day 5 and 6 Swedish government officials and Raddnings Verket attended a 2 day advanced course.

Each seminar was split into six separate workshops each of which ran for 1 hour 45 minutes. There were two off road driving courses, which provided a range of terrains to negotiate. The other workshops covered vehicle maintenance, winching techniques, spare parts and accessories, HF communications and a demonstration of an armoured vehicle from Armoured Project Vehicles.

The large number of vehicles which TGS provided for the event plus the attention of the TGS team members meant that there were plenty of opportunities for the participants to get first hand knowledge of all the vehicles and exchange views on usage and procedures.

Although intensive, the seminars provided basic training in some of the most significant areas of vehicle and equipment usage. All participants should find this knowledge of use in the months and years to come.

In the evening, the TGS team and the participants were able to relax together over dinner and discuss the key points of learning during the day.
