In recent years, TGS has run a number of Training Seminars where customers have been invited to take part in a series of workshops over a 1-2 day period, the aim of these seminars is to increase expertise especially in the areas of basic vehicle maintenance, suitable accessories required, winching and off-road driving.
On March of this year, our Training Manager, Cor Hendriks, set off for Kenya to carry out one of these special training seminars requested by members of the International Red Cross. The stunning backdrop of Lukenya Getaway set the scene for the event and also provided very suitable off-road tracks which were perfect for the job in hand.
There were two courses organised: one was a 3-day course for staff members of the IFRC and a second 1-day course for members of the Kenyan Red Cross, both courses focussed on on-road safety, off-road driving and basic vehicle maintenance and recovery techniques.
Cor spent many years working in developing countries before coming to TGS and his vast experience and knowledge make him the ideal instructor for our customers. The IFRC participants on this training seminar all provided positive feedback on the event, with comments paraising the teaching practices employed by TGS staff members and, of course, about the impressive capabilities of our Toyota Vehicles!!
