Eddie Davies Steps Down as After Sales Manager

On 30 April 2010 Eddie Davies, one of TGS’s most popular staff members, stepped down from his position as After Sales Manager.

Eddie has been associated with TGS since its inception, and has managed several different departments. He joined the company from the Royal Navy in 1993 as the Logistics Manager. This wide-ranging function included establishing and then running new vehicle workshops, assisting in the design and development of new options, and setting up the first Quality Control organisation. It also involved looking after the vehicles from their arrival by sea from Japan when Eddie would round up large teams of drivers to take the vehicles from the docks to the storage areas, through storage in parking areas, to final departure on export.

He was also responsible for the Administrative Department at the time when the company changed from a paper filing system to the current computerised model , and he has been the principal liaison point for negotiations with HM Customs over arrangements for the TGS bonded status, and with the Department of Transport over regulations concerning registration of export vehicles. He was also the manager responsible for putting in place TGS’s Health and Safety at Work organisation.

He was After Sales Manager since 1996 and in that role was responsible for ensuring that TGS provided the very highest standards of customer care.

Eddie has been replaced by former Freight Supervisor Kevin Roper, and will no longer carry any responsibility for day to day After Sales service. However, he has been retained as an advisor, and fully intends to maintain many of his links with the company group.

We wish Eddie every success in his new role and hope that he will enjoy the extra time he now has to his leisure activities and his family.
