In our last issue we said farewell to out-going After Sales Manager Eddie Davies; we now take the opportunity to welcome his successor, Kevin Roper.
Undaunted by the prospect of stepping into Eddie’s ample shoes, Kevin took up the post on 1st April this year under Eddie’s expert tutelage, building on his previous experience as Freight Supervisor (position he held for the best part of 6 years) within the Logistics Department. Back in 2004 Kevin joined TGS as Freight Administrator, where he dealt with freight bookings, shipment tracking and assisting clients with freight issues affecting their vehicle and spare parts orders.
Kevin soon proved his worth and was appointed Freight Supervisor in 2005. In this role he was responsible or overseeing daily procedures and training of the freight team. Kevin also assisted and took an active role in the development of the Bassadone Automotive Project System (BAPS) freight module, which completely overhauled the methods employed by TGS in its handling of freight. As a consequence of this involvement with BAPS, Kevin also helped to implement the B2B booking service & and up-dated shipment tracking with TGS’s main freight providers.
Kevin’s contacts with the various shipping lines and freight agents have proved invaluable in his new role – particularly as the majority of after sales challenges received by TGS are freight related. This personal rapport with the third parties involved often leads to a swift and satisfactory solution which ultimately benefits the client.
Looking ahead, Kevin has already embraced the new BAPS system and is seeking ways in which to develop a new After Sales module within BAPS. His ultimate goal is to make the department more efficient and improve the “overall TGS product” offered to clients, ably assisted by the experienced Gayle Grech (After Sales Supervisor).
All that remains now is to wish Kevin and his team every success for the future, particularly with the implementation of his plans… |
