In the spirit of Kaizen (continuous improvement), our Workshop Team has been busy developing the latest version of the Personnel Carrier Conversion, using the Land Cruiser HZJ79 pick-up as a platform. The Workshop Team’s prime concern has been passenger comfort. To this end, they have replaced the traditional rigid wood and steel benches, with far more comfortable (cushioned) and space-efficient folding seats.
The seats are mounted on a special frame specifically devised to give good support to the seats either in the down position or folded up. Seat belts are also available for the rear seats if required.
Additional headroom has been created at the rear through the adoption of a special canopy frame which is 15cm higher than conventional types. Production units will have a white PVC canopy as standard.
Extra protection against vehicle wear and tear is now provided by fitting TGS’s floor and tailgate chequer plate option, thus shielding the floor and tailgate against any rough treatment.
Inspired by their success, the Workshop Team are now working towards a similar conversion on the TGS Hilux models.
