Lourdes Barea, CIPD
Human Resources Manager
I joined in April 2005 after 20 years experience in the MOD and 10 of them in the HR department. My role is a generalist one and I am responsible for all the HR issues within the group, from recruitment to discharges, learning and development, performance management and introducing appropriate procedures and polices that comply with all current legislation, ensuring fairness and equality of opportunity for all. I am a qualified HR practitioner and a Licentiate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), as part of my continual professional development I am undertaking a professional course to gain Chartered membership of the institute this year. I am also a member of the Chartered Management Institute.

In my spare time I enjoy reading and keeping fit. I also love nature and am a member of the local natural history society.

  Katrina Fortunato ,
Human Resources Assistant
I joined TGS in Oct 2004 after completing a four years (sandwich) Business Studies Degree at Southampton Institute.

As a Freight Administrator, I gained invaluable knowledge and experience about the company’s freight & logistics operations. After completing three years in the Freight Department, I was able to transfer to the Human Resources Department as HR Assistant. In HR I am responsible for the organisation of Learning & Development, Student work placement , the administration of Recruitment and Selection and the monitoring of absence amongst other ad hoc HR tasks. I am currently undertaking a Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) course with the aim to become a qualified HR practitioner and gain the Associate membership.

I mostly enjoy keeping fit at a local gym, and travelling.
