With over 300 vehicles being shipped by TGS every
month, the need for quality control inside the workshops is very
clear. TGS is now spending an average of 12 hours of workshop time
on every vehicle as the demand increases for vehicles which are
ready to be deployed from the very first
day of their arrival in country.
Quality is ensured by our extremely busy team
of workshop and service controllers. Not only are they checking
that workmanship meets all quality criteria, they are also closely
involved with the establishment and improvement of fitting procedures
which ensures that the same job is done to the same high standard
throughout our workshops time and time again.
We know from our contacts with customers that
our workshop capability is one of the key measures of customer service
– the quality of our workshops is achieved through great teamwork
and the application of high standards.

Michael Mauro
Assistant Sevice Manager
Michael joined the company in 2005
after completing 22 years service with the Royal Gibraltar
Regiment as a Warrant Officer. His organisational skills and
experience with the mechanics and 4WD vehicles have proven
particularly useful.
As an Assistant Service Manager he plans and organises the
daily tasks of all 4 TGS workshops and the pre-delivery inspection.
Michael is responsible for liaising with the Freight department
to ensure vehicles can meet the tight deadlines for shipping
and also with the vehicle preparation department to ensure
all vehicles are cleaned and moved to the frontier on the
correct date. He is also in charge of the administration of
the workshops staff
Ian Gomez
Workshop Controller
Ian has been with TGS just over 3 years.
He is the Workshop Controller at workshop 4, and looks after
a team of 10 mechanics. He liaises directly with the Assistant
Service Manager and keeps a close eye on the monthly productivity
figures for all workshops. He helps to ensure that all vehicles
meet their tight preparation deadlines. This involves coordinating
the delivery of all vehicle options, accessories and spares
before the mechanics receives the vehicle, so that there are
no delays when the vehicles come through the workshop. Ian
and his team of 10 at workshop 4 are well aware of the crucial
part that teamwork plays in their everyday working environment
- without teamwork the careful preparation of vehicles with
extremely demanding deadlines would not be possible.
In his spare time Ian enjoys swimming, water-polo
and collecting pin badges.
